Matt Hale

Matt is the winner of 3 national comedy awards, former radio personality, and TV presenter for Channel Nine’s Destination WA, has entertained audiences around the world from London to Sydney. 

Combining the fun of audience participation with incredible abilities of the mind, Matt transforms traditional motivational speaking from boring to BRAVO!

Dr Sarah Kelly 
BDS Otago, NZ (2000) 

Sarah began working in Australia and the United Kingdom before returning home to New Zealand in 2012.  Worked in public, private and corporate dentistry. Currently working in a central Auckland, corporate family practice 30 plus hours a week, general dentistry. Member of the Clinical advisor board at Lumino the dentist since 2016 (Maven group in Australia).  Post grad certificate in Law from AUT NZ, emphasis on Health and safety law.  Current paid supervisor and mentor of clinicians for NZ dental council.  Writes a bimonthly column in NZ Dental association news around sustainability.  And created and helps moderate facebook group Sustainability in NZ/AU Dentistry the aim of which is “To share information and start discussions that will improve the dental industries environmental footprint, one rubbish bin at a time.” 

Dr Michael Mandikos 
BDSc (Hons), MS (New York), Cer Pros, FRACDS, FICD, FPFA 

Dr. Michael Mandikos is a registered specialist in Prosthodontics. Michael received his Bachelor of Dental Science Degree with First Class Honours, from the University of Queensland and in 1998 he completed a three-year residency program at the State University of New York at Buffalo (USA), graduating with a Certificate in Prosthodontics and Masters Degree in Biomaterials. He has researched composite resin materials and published research papers in Australian and international journals on clinical and dental materials topics, as well as many clinical technique articles in local dental magazines.  

Michael has been a Visiting Specialist Prosthodontist to the University of Queensland Dental School and the Royal Australian Air Force. He is a Reviewer for five dental Journals and is a product evaluator for several dental companies. Michael has presented continuing education programs at Dental meetings throughout Australia, Southeast Asia, Antarctica and the USA and maintains a Private Practice limited to Implant and Restorative Dentistry in Graceville in Brisbane’s Inner West. He also teaches at the Australian Dental Centre of Excellence in Brisbane. 

Dr Roisin McGrath  

Roisin has worked in the oral health field for over 30 years. She currently works part-time at the University of Melbourne as a Lecturer in Oral Health and is also employed by Dental Health Services Victoria as the Manager of the Dental Teaching Clinic at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. 
She has qualifications in dental assisting, dental hygiene and dental therapy. She also has a Graduate Certificate in International Health, a Master of Public Health (Sexual Health) and a PhD in oral health promotion. Never one to stop learning, Roisin has recently enrolled in a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching. She is also an accredited Mental Health First Aid instructor and delivers MHFA training to dental practitioners. Roisin is a passionate advocate for the oral health professions and has been actively involved in the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia for many years. In her (very limited) spare time, Roisin enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking and camping.

Dr Emma McLaughlin  

Emma has been a speech pathologist (working with adult clients) for around 25 years. She has worked in a wide range of contexts including acute care, rehabilitation, and community based services. Emma has taught and Charles Sturt University, Central Queensland University and La Trobe University, where she lectured in adult speech and swallowing and co-ordinated the subject HCS5AIA (Assessment and Intervention A) for around 6 years. In 2016 Emma left academia and returned to clinical practice. She now works on the Neurological, Cancer, and Pulmonary Teams in the Community Rehabilitation Centre at Castlemaine Health in central Victoria, and has recently been appointed as Allied Health Clinical Educator. She has 3 research publications (regarding professional issues and the use of expiratory muscle strength training, and has presented at national and international conferences. Emma has several manuscripts in preparation regarding the use of fibre endoscopic evaluation of swallowing, and undertaking problem based learning online. Her PhD investigated why Speech Pathologists leave the profession. Emma lives in the central Victorian town of Heathcote, and is on the committee for the Heathcote Dementia Village. She is also Vice President of The Heathcote Community Children’s Services Association. 

Dr Sharonne Zaks  
BDSc, FPFA, FICD, Ad Dip Mus.   

Dr Sharonne Zaks has over 20 years of experience in private dental practice in Melbourne and regional Victoria and currently practices in East St Kilda. She has a special interest in treating anxious and phobic patients and survivors of sexual assault and trauma, who travel from all over Australia to see her. She also enjoys teaching internationally trained dentists part time.  
Dr Zaks’s compassionate approach offers benefits to all patients, clinicians and staff, and is being taught locally and internationally. It incorporates the trauma informed principles, her clinical experience, and research into dental anxiety, phobia, sexual assault and trauma.  
Sharonne is passionate about improving the experience of health care for all, and recently presented to over 5000 people at TEDx in Sydney, at the Australian Dental Congress and many other conferences around Australia. 
Dr Zaks’s groundbreaking work has attracted global media interest with interviews by the ABC (including ‘Conversations’), SBS, BBC, Channel 10, The Age, SMH, and many others. Her work has been also featured in two books distributed globally.  
Dr Zaks has been awarded fellowships of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and of the International College of Dentists. 
Outside dentistry, Sharonne is a professional musician and loves composing. She has played the piano and trumpet in bands at venues and music festivals around Australia for many years.
